The Theatre: Sejong Art Center, Seoul

Sejong Center opened on April 14, 1978 in succession to Civil Hall wich was destrtructed by fire.
Sejong center was the gateway of Korean performing art and only way of international performing art as one of the world's ten best performance stages. In 1970s-1980s, the center had been the cradle of Korean pure art.
As a live history of Korean performing art and a space of memory for art-loving people as well as a culture and art institute representing Korea, Sejong Center which has mainteined its reputation for the past 20 years started as a form of foundation in 1999 to take an another leap toward the 21st century.
The Launch of Sejong Center is a sign of activation of private cukture and art emphasized by creativity and self-reliance and the same time the first step toward the globalization of Korean culture and art.

Il Sejong Center ha aperto il 14 Aprile, dopo che la Civil Hall venne distrutta da un incendio.
Il Sejong Center è stato la porta di trasmissione dell'arte performativa coreana e di quella internazionale e uno tra i dieci migliori centri del mondo per l'arte teatrale. Tra il 1970 ed il 1980, il centro è stato la culla della più pura arte coreana. Nel 1999 hanno creato una fondazione con lo stesso nome.
Il lancio del Sejong Center rappresenta il segno di un primo step verso la globalizzazione della cultura e dell'arte coreana.
